CHELSEA — The High Line will close earlier than its usual hours on the 4th of July, the Friends of the High Line announced on its website.
The popular park and its adjoining public plaza at 30th Street called Rainbow City, will close at 6 p.m., because of large crowds expected to flood the area for the Macy's fireworks show.
The park will return to its normal hours — 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. — Tuesday.
The outdoor eatery below the High Line, the Lot on Tap, will remain open during its usual hours for food, wine and beer.
DNAinfo drafted a list of the best places to watch the fireworks display along the Hudson River.
The show starts at 9 p.m. Monday and lasts for 25 minutes, but Macy's recommends staking out spots from 5 p.m.
