Upper West Side Officer Charged With DWI and Menacing

MANHATTAN - A cop assigned to an Upper West Side precinct was hit with a slew of charges in connection with an alleged drunk driving incident in Upper Manhattan, police said.

Benny Lantigua, who works at the 24th Precinct, was allegedly involved in the incident at 9:45 a.m.

Cops could not immediately say where the incident happened except for the 34th Precinct, which covers Washington Heights and Inwood.

They also could not immediately say what happened.

Lantigua was charged with DWI, menacing, refusing to take a breathalyzer and unlicensed driving.

The officer was suspended, police said.
