Fire Breaks Out at Madison Square Garden

MANHATTAN - A small fire broke out at Madison Square Garden Saturday, fire officials said.

The blaze on the 9th floor of the building at 8 Penn Plaza, which was knocked down before firefighters arrived, erupted at 10:43 a.m.

About 100 construction workers who were doing a project at the time had to leave the building.

The fire in the building at Seventh Avenue and 34th Street was officially placed under control at 11:22 a.m.

There were no reports of injuries.
