MANHATTAN - Embattled Congressman Anthony Weiner is planning to check himself into a treatment facility and take a leave from the House in the wake of a sexting scandal that has rocked his career, according to a report Saturday.
Two officials told the New York Times that the randy rep, who is fighting for his political life after posting racy pictures of himself on Twitter and then lying about it, is planning to go to rehab.
The details were not immediately clear.
Weiner also plans to take a leave from the House, the paper reported.
"Congressman Weiner departed this morning to seek professional treatment to focus on becoming a better husband and healthier person,"said spokeswoman Risa Heller. “In light of that, he will request a short leave of absence from the House of Representatives so that he can get evaluated and map out a course of treatment to make himself well.
