CHELSEA —Artichoke Basille's fans who wish they could enjoy a stiff drink alongside the pizza chain's signature slices may soon be in luck.
The pizzeria is seeking a liquor license for its Chelsea eatery, which opened last September at Tenth Avenue and 17th Street. The location, which is Artichoke Basille's only full-service restaurant, currently offers beer and wine.
The bid to sell hard liquor won support from Community Board 4 at a meeting Wednesday night. Artichoke Basille's management will next make its case to the State Liquor Authority.
The pizza place first developed its rabid following at its original takeout shop in the East Village at 328 E. 14th St., where it won raves from patrons including Keith Richards, according to New York Magazine.
Last November, the brand opened a second takeout outpost in the Village, at 111 MacDougal Street between W. 3rd and Bleeker Streets.
