Man Shot and Wounded in East Harlem

EAST HARLEM - A man was shot and wounded Saturday afternoon when someone opened fire at 1595 Madison Avenue, authorities said.

The victim was shot in the arm and back at 12:40 p.m.and was taken by ambulance to St. Lukes Hospital.

A fire department spokesman said the man was expected to survive.

Police were investigating the shooting, which took place near E. 107th Street. There was no word on a possible motive or suspects.
