MIDTOWN - The nearly-naked body of a young man was discovered in the East River Sunday afternoon, officials said.

The Coast Guard made the greusome discovery around 4 p.m.  Police described the man as being in his 20s and wearing boxer shorts.

He was taken to the shore near 42nd Street.

It was not clear how long he had been in the water. It is also not clear if there was any criminality in the case.
