MIDTOWN - A knife-wielding thug and his accomplice are being sought for preying on women at Midtown hotels — choking one into unconsciousness during a pair of robberies.
In both cases, the suspects and victims arranged to meet before the thefts took place, police said without elaborating. It's not clear if they knew each other.
In the first instance, on April 30, the 24-year-old victim allowed one of the supects to enter her room at the Wellington Hotel, on Seventh Avneue, near 56th Street around 3:20 p.m.
The thief whipped out a knife and when he demanded her property, a struggle broke out, leaving her with cuts on her hand, police said.
The bandit made off with cash and cell phones.
He struck again the next day at the Roosevelt Hotel on 45th Street, near Fifth Avenue, according to the NYPD.
Cops said the 30-year-old victim let the suspect into her room around noon and the robber again brandished a knife.
When he demanded cash, a struggle broke out and he choked her into unconsciousness before once again making off with cash, a laptop and cell phones, police said.
He fled to an elevator where the second suspect was waiting, cops said.
The victim in that incident refused medical attention.
The armed suspect is described as 5-foot-5 and 155 pounds. The alleged accomplice is described as 5-foot-8 and 160 pounds, police said.
