UNION SQUARE — A fire broke out above the Blue Water Grill in Union Square on Thursday afternoon.
The fire in a 14th floor apartment at 31 Union Square West was reported to FDNY about 4:07 p.m., the department said. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
The fire was under control by 4:30 p.m.
"There was a bunch of smoke coming out of the upper floor," said local artist, Joe Mangrum, 42. He said the fire department had the situation in hand quickly.
