GREENWICH VILLAGE — A man was run over and killed by a B train at West 4th Street Wednesday, snarling service for hours, MTA and FDNY officials said.
The man, who has not been identified, was hit by a southbound train in the West 4th Street station shortly before 11 a.m., said an MTA spokesman.
The incident halted service on the B train for more than two hours, and left the D train running on the A line.
It is unknown how the man came to be on the tracks.
A witness said the incident left a train conductor traumatized.
"She was crying hysterically," he said.
