WEST VILLAGE —  A former pastry chef at cutting-edge dining establishment wd~50 is using his skills to create impressive tacos in the West Village.

Alex Stupak, opened his first solo venture, Empellon, a Mexican restaurant, on Monday.

The eatery has moved into 230 W. 4th Street, with a bar room at the front and dining room at the back.

The biggest draw will be the line of tacos: lamb barbacoa with salsa borracha; beer braised tongue with cabbage and lime mayonnaise; and crispy yucca with pickled black beans and habanero ketchup.

Other items include salads, sopes and ceviches.
