CHINATOWN — Police arrested a man in connection with the brutal subway attack of an off-duty MTA worker who was knocked unconscious after being thrown on the tracks at the East Broadway Station.

Ismael Acevedo, 41, was arrested and charged with assault and reckless endangerment for punching the victim in the head and then tossing her onto the tracks as she waited for the F train on Feb. 4, police said.

According to the criminal complaint, Acevedo grabbed the jacket of Sabrina Scott, 39, after striking her in the head and swung her onto the subway tracks, causing her to be knocked unconscious and suffer lacerations to the head, as well as a fractured thumb.

Scott was rescued by a Good Samaritan, identified later as Derrick Oakes.

Acevedo was arraigned on both charges Friday, with bail set at $15,000 cash or bond, the Manhattan District Attorney's office said. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 23.
