MANHATTAN — The photograph of a girl that appeared on a controversial anti-abortion billboard in SoHo will no longer be used by the Dallas-based group Life Always,  the organization said in a statement Friday.

"Although Life Always has the right to continue using the image, out of respect for the little girl and her family, we will no longer use her photo," Pastor Stephen Broden said in the statement. He is a board member with Life Always.

The billboard appeared at the corner of Sixth Avenue and Watts Street, with the message "the most dangerous place for an African American is in the womb" appearing beside a picture of six-year-old Anissa Fraser.

Her mother, Tricia Fraser, demanded it be taken down. The poster also outraged residents and local politicians.

Tricia Fraser had the photograph taken at a modeling agency two years ago and signed a release form knowing that pictures of her children could be used as stock photos.

"I just want the image off of it. Use another image — just not hers," Fraser told MyFox New York.
