Person Dies After Being Rescued from Hudson River

MANHATTAN — A person died Wednesday after being pulled out of the Hudson River near Midtown, the fire department said.

The unidentified victim was spotted in the water around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday near West 55th Street and pulled out by the Rescue 1 fire company, according to FDNY officials.

The person suffered a heart attack and was taken to Roosevelt Hospital, where the individual was pronounced dead, the department said.
