MANHATTAN— Two TSA agents were arrested Wednesday for allegedly stealing nearly $40,000 from a passenger's bag, according to the Port Authority.

Officers recovered $39,980 from agents Davon Webb, 30, and Coumar Persad, 36, an official with the Port Authority said.

The men now face three felony charges of grand larceny and possession of stolen goods and one misdemeanor count of official misconduct, according to the Authority.

The agents had been under investigation since Jan. 30, the New York Daily News reported.

The two men would reportedly work as a team with one agent notifying the other when a bag with cash went through screening, the paper reported.

Once the luggage made its way to the baggage area, one of the agents would snatch the cash, according to the News.

Webb and Persad also admitted to other thefts totaling up to $160,000, according to the paper.
