Police Searching for Man Accused of Robbing Chelsea Bank

CHELSEA — Police are looking for a bank robber who made off with an undisclosed amount of money from a 23rd Street Chase Bank last week.

The suspect entered the Chase Bank branch at 71 West 23rd Street on Thursday about 5:18 p.m. and passed the teller a note demanding money while displaying a gun, the police said. The teller gave the robber an undisclosed amount of cash, after which he left the bank and fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The NYPD described the thief as a black man in his 40's, between 5' 9" and 5' 10" tall and weighing 180 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a black or dark green North Face hooded jacket, a black winter hat, blue jeans, and black gloves.

Police described the man as being in his 40's and between 5' 9" and 5' 10" tall.
