MANHATTAN — A fire broke out in a Harlem apartment building Monday afternoon, the FDNY said.

No one was hurt in the fire, which was reported in the fifth floor apartment on West 142nd Street just after 4:30 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said. The fire was confined to one room in the apartment. No one was home at the time.

Thirteen FDNY units responded with 68 firefighters. They had the blaze under control within a half hour.

The cause has not been determined but it is not considered suspicious, the FDNY said.
