UPPER WEST SIDE — An orthodox synagogue on the Upper West Side received a threatening letter on Thursday afternoon, prompting police to sweep the building for a potential bomb, NYPD said.
The NYPD evacuated the building belonging to the Congregation Ohab Zedek, at 118 West 95th, while following up on the threat. There was no device found, police said.
Synagogue officials reported the letter to police at the NYPD's 24th precinct about 5 p.m., police said.
A representative for the congregation had no comment.
