MANHATTAN — An alleged drunken driver picked the wrong place to get into a car accident Thursday when he crashed into two cars near Manhattan Criminal Court, the Daily News reported.

The unidentified driver reportedly sideswiped one vehicle and hit another shortly after 11 a.m., then collapsed on the sidewalk while firefighters put out his smoking engine, the News reported.

A spokesman for the FDNY confirmed they responded to calls of a car on fire and a car crash at the intersection of Lafayette Street and Franklin Street. The driver was not taken to the hospital, the spokesman said.

Firefighters found a bottle of vodka on his front seat, the News reported. The NYPD reportedly took the man into custody, but a spokesman said Friday there was no information available about the incident.
