LOWER EAST SIDE — A small fire broke out on the top floor of a 17-story Lower East Side high-rise building late Friday afternoon, according to the FDNY.

The fire began at 189 Allen St. between Houston and Stanton Streets about 4:45 p.m., and was put out at 5:11 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said.

The fire was isolated to the 17th floor, and there were no injuries reported, FDNY said.

The building is part of the Hernandez Housing complex, the same address where several people were arrested last week after police found nearly 250 bags of heroin, a "fist-sized rock of crack" and 13 bags of cocaine in the residence.

FDNY spokesman were not immediately able to identify what caused the fire.
