MANHATTAN — Police identified a suspect Thursday in last week's Chelsea diner shooting, which left one man dead and customers in the crowded eatery panicking after a gunman opened fire.
Earl Barranco, 24, of Brooklyn is wanted in connection with Saturday's shooting at the Good Stuff Diner at 109 West 14th Street near Sixth Avenue, police said.
Corey Scott, 28, from Flatbush, was shot three times in the back and twice in the back of the head during the incident and died instantly, according to NYPD.
The shooting happened after a fight between two groups of men erupted in the diner about 4:45 a.m. Saturday, police said. Scott, who was from one of the groups fighting, was shot and killed.
Police describe Barranco as 6 foot 2 inches and 193 pounds.
No arrests have been made.
