Yee-Haw! Bull Riders Set to Take Over Times Square Friday

MANHATTAN — The Naked Cowboy better watch out — some real cowboys are coming to town.

Ten of the world's top bull riders are set to take over Times Square for a live street competition Friday afternoon.

The Professional Bull Riders event, which is being held in advance of a January appearance at Madison Square Garden, will feature 10 bucking broncos and top talent, including Austin Meier, J.B. Mauney, Renato Nunes, Valdiron de Oliveira and Mike Lee.

Ryan McConnel, who is currently ranked fifth in the world, said he's counting down the days till his Broadway debut.

"Riding in Times Square? It can't be any cooler than that," said McConnel, who lives in Coalgate, Okla.

"It should be something you will never forget."

The bucking will begin at 1 p.m. on Broadway between 42nd and 43rd streets, spokeswoman Sara Broun said.

The event will also be broadcast across the country on Sun., Oct. 17.
