MANHATTAN — A 24-year-old woman was rescued after she leapt off the Staten Island Ferry into New York Harbor late Saturday, the New York Post reported.

Police scrambled to find the woman who jumped off the Staten Island-bound Andrew J. Barberi ferry near Governor's Island around 8 p.m.

The harbor police used lights and followed the woman's screams to locate her.

"I want to die, I want to die," she reportedly told police, according to the Post.

The woman is in stable condition at NYU Downtown Hospital, the Post said.
