MANHATTAN — Tamika Catchings and the Indiana Fever struck back at the New York Liberty Sunday night, beating them 75-67 in the second game of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The loss sends the Liberty, who are looking for the club's first conference final appearance since 2008 and first-ever title, back home to take on the Fever again on Wednesday in the decisive third game.

After leading the team with a dazzling performance of 28 points in Game 1 on Thursday, Cappie Pondexter put up 20 points, while Essence Carson led the team with 24.

The team, however, shot a combined 36.8 percent from the floor. The starters were a combined 2 of 9 from the three point line and 12 of 42 from the field.

At one point the Fever even held the squad to 3 of 15 from the field, allowing Indiana to build a lead and bring the series back to New York.
