Upper East Side Dog Walker Accused of Stealing Jewelry From Clients

MANHATTAN SUPREME COURT — A dog walker charged with stealing approximately $90,000 of jewelry from his Upper East Side clients pleaded not guilty on four counts of grand larceny Wednesday.

Felipe Domingues, 23, of Queens, allegedly stole jewelry from two apartments he had access to because of his job.

In March, a $28,000 brooch was stolen from a clients home on E. 76th Street and in July jewelrey was takent from the closet of a client living on E. 86th Street.

Domingues, a Brazilian citizen, was arrested on July 13 and is being held at Rikers Island.

He pleaded not guilty Wednesday in Manhattan Supreme Court.

His attorney, Steven Brill, said the missing property has not been located by authorities.

"Mr. Domingues does not have the jewelry," Brill said.

Brill also claimed two of Domingues' clients have said he is trustworthy, the Daily News reported.

"I've gotten an outpouring of calls from ... people that would trust him with their home, their dog, their valuables," Brill said Wednesday.
