MANHATTAN — It appears Mayor Michael Bloomberg won't be mistaken for Mr. Scrooge by some of his city employees.

Three of the mayor’s aides earn close to $200,000 a year after Bloomberg pays part of their salary out of his own pocket, the New York Post reported Wednesday.

Staff members Allison Jaffin, Karen Greene and Irene Pistorino earned between $113,429 to $117,818 from their public salary in the Mayor's Office, and an additional $60,000 and $100,000 from Bloomberg, the paper reported.

The mayor reportedly set up a company called Manhattan West to pay the employees for non-governmental work outside of regular office hours.

Another Bloomberg staffer, Howard Wolfson, allegedly owns stock in a company receiving public funds to build the new Net’s stadium in Brooklyn. Wolfson listed on his financial disclosure form an investment in Forest City Enterprises, worth between $5,000 to $39,999, according to the Post.

Bloomberg’s deputy mayor, Linda Gibbs, reportedly gave a loan between $60,000 to $100,000 to her former chief of staff, Jim Anderson. Officials said the loan was legal because Anderson stopped reporting to Gibbs in 2006, the paper reported.

A spokesperson for Wolfson said he purchased the stock in 2007 for around $5,000, which the spokesperson claims is below the “threshold that raises potential conflict-of-interest issues."

Bloomberg’s spokesman, Stu Loeser, reportedly said the Conflicts of Interest Board cleared the mayor to pay the three aides.
