MANHATTAN — Chris Simms, the son of legendary Giants star Phil Simms who was charged with driving stoned, is fighting to have a statement in which he told police he'd "smoked everything" thrown out of court.

"I took four puffs," the Tennessee Titans quarterback allegedly told cops before he was busted for allegedly driving while stoned. "There's nothing in the car. I smoked everything."

Simms has argued that he was referring to cigarettes, and his lawyer had said that the pot smell wafting out of the car could have been from other passengers in the car.

According to the New York Post, which obtained court documents that revealed the details of what Simms said to the police, Simms is now fighting to have the statement, along with his refusal to submit to urine and roadside coordination tests, thrown out of court.

His lawyer does not believe that the police had probable cause to question him.

"I can't get into it, but what they have me quoted as saying is something I definitely didn't say," Simms told The Tennessean newspaper.
