MANHATTAN — White House veteran and news anchor George Stephanopoulos is officially a New Yorker now with his purchase of an Upper East Side home.

Stephanopoulos and his wife, actress Alexandra Wentworth, recently bought a $6.5 million home at 30 East 72nd St., the New York Observer reported.

The purchase of the full-floor apartment home completes the news anchor's move from Washington, D.C., where he served as press secretary for President Bill Clinton's first term and host of "This Week."

Stephanopoulos took over for Diane Sawyer as host of Good Morning America this year.

The three-bedroom, pre-war apartment features a wood-burning fireplace and private elevator vestibule, the Observer reported.
