MANHATTAN — Brooklynites will have a new way to reach Manhattan this summer.

Starting June 11, a ferry service will run weekends between the new Brooklyn Bridge Park, Fulton Ferry Landing in DUMBO and the South Street Seaport. On Fridays, the ferry will also stop at Governors Island.

"This is the first major NYHarborWay Initiative project this year, aimed at increasing connectivity between New York City's waterfronts," NYC & Company CEO George Fertitta told NBC New York on Thursday.

The ferries will run every half hour on weekends. A Friday ride will cost $2 one-way and $3 round trip, and on Saturdays and Sundays the price will rise to $6 one-way and $10 round trip.

The ferry service will run between June 11 and Sept. 6.
