FINANCIAL DISTRICT — The Fulton Stall Market is opening for the season on Sunday with new vendors and free concerts.

The twice-a-week market will feature more organic produce, poultry and eggs this year, along with local treats from MilkMade Ice Cream and wine from New York State vineyards.

Like last year, the vendors will set up in the former Fulton Fish Market stalls on South Street. On Wednesdays, the market is sponsoring free lunchtime concerts nearby on Pier 17.

Last season, the market struggled to get off the ground and cut back from two days a week to just one day.

Sara Weeks Dima, the market manager, is hoping for better weather and stronger sales this summer.

“The neighborhood is growing and changing,” she said, noting the recent Downtown Alliance survey showing lower Manhattan’s expansion. “There’s nothing like this downtown.”

The Fulton Stall Market is open Sundays and Wednesdays from noon to 6 p.m. on South Street between Fulton and Beekman Streets.
