MANHATTAN SUPREME COURT — Two men were convicted Wednesday for murdering a math teacher during an infamous robbery of a Fifth Avenue poker club almost three years ago.

William Delvalle and Scelso Alvarez were found guilty of murdering Frank DeSena, 55, an former math professor from New Jersey, during the course of a robbery at a high-rollers underground gambling establishment on Nov. 2, 2007.

Prosecutors said the team of armed robbers entered the club at 251 Fifth Avenue wearing ski masks and threatened the bouncer with their weapons before looting cash from tables throughout the club.

DeSena's widow, Kristine Jones, who was there for the verdict, said she hopes her husband's killers get the maximum sentence, which is 25 years to life in prison.

"I hate wishing such bad things on anyone, but they brought this on themselves," Jones said.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 22.
