Police Hunting for Suspect in Chinatown Sexual Assualt of 9-Year-Old

CHINATOWN — Police are searching for a suspect wanted for the sexual assault of a 9-year-old in Chinatown last week.

The suspect allegedly attacked the female victim inside the Seward Park Library, at 192 E. Broadway, around 5 p.m. on May 6, police said.

The assailant approached the victim, grabbed her by the shirt, covered her mouth and sexually assaulted her, police stated.

The suspect is described as a male in his mid-40s, standing 5-foot-9 to 6 feet tall, with a medium build and short salt-and-pepper-colored hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt, a gray cap and carrying a black bag with a strap at the time of the incident, police said.
