MANHATTAN — Pounding bass lines aren't something you'd usually associate with the Upper East Side's Pierre Hotel, but now that the luxurious property has added bimonthly dance nights to its list of amenities, they've become the norm.

The 80-year-old Pierre Hotel, located directly beside horse-drawn carriage traffic at 2 East 61st St., boasts a cotillion room and a fleet of personal concierges willing to handle requests ranging from bow tie tying to the purchasing of private yachts, according to the hotel's Web site.

But since the February launch of a “Rumor” dance night in its lobby bar, the formerly demure Fifth Avenue hotel has added 20-something party hoppers to the mix of hotel guests and old guard Upper East Side locals, the New York Times reported.
