MANHATTAN — One of the two men stabbed to death on the 2 train last month was laid to rest in Brooklyn Wednesday, the Daily News reported.

Ricardo Williams, 24, was mourned by family and friends during a service at the the Brooklyn Tabernacle, according to the News.

Williams and his friend Darnell Morel, 24, also of Brooklyn, were stabbed to death as they headed home in the early-morning hours of March 28, police said.

Prosecutors said Brenddy Garcia, 19, attacked the men with a knife after being smashed over the head with a beer bottle by a rowdy group of youths that included the victims. He then fled the train at the Christopher Street and eluded police for several days.

Garcia, 19, a college student in criminal justice with no criminal record, was arrested and charged with murder and criminal posession of a weapon.

He is currently being held without bail at Rikers Island and has maintained through a lawyer that he acted in self-defense.
