MANHATTAN — A South Street building has begun to brace itself for a dog invasion, the Tribeca Trib reported.
The Fetch Club, a doggie daycare center, complete with a spa, restaurant, fitness and nutrition center and boutique, is slated to open next month in the ground floor and basement of 85 South Street, according to the Trib.
But at a Community Board 1 committee meeting the building's two-legged occupants raised concerns about noise, sanitation and ventilation issues that could accompany the daycare, the paper reported.
"Given the age of our building, it's difficult to image that they could really contain the noise and the odors effectively," tenant Meri Lobel told the paper.
"It's still a big space, and 30 to 40 dogs indoors are going to make a considerable amount of noise. I guess I'm not sure if that kind of bark management is possible."
The owners said they'd take measures to ensure the dogs were quiet and that sanitation would not be an issue.
