MANHATTAN – "Law & Order" star Richard Belzer on Thursday denied accusations that he attacked a female employee at the Upper West Side Apple store, according to published reports.

"I didn't scream. I didn't choke her. Go to the videotape. The police did. A bunch of New York's Finest reviewed the tape, and they saw that there was nothing," Belzer told the Daily News. "I was not charged. There is no charge."

Belzer, who lives on Riverside Drive during filming of "Law & Order: SVU," according to his NBC biography, was said to have assaulted Apple employee Milan Agnew, 21, at the W. 67th Street store last Wednesday.

"She wanted attention and she knew who I was," Belzer told the New York Post.

Agnew still stuck by her story, telling the paper, "I approached him like he was a regular customer. I asked, 'How can I help you?' He told me what he needed, and then before I was able to speak again, he lunges in and grabs my neck. It was no gentle manner. There is no gentle manner to grab someone's neck."

Police did not charge Belzer with a crime, although Agnew did file a harassment complaint, which she can pursue in Civil Court, the News reported.
