MANHATTAN — Police shut down an East Village bicycle shop and busted two employees in an apparent stolen bike sting, Streetsblog reported Tuesday.

The NYPD's Civil Enforcement Unit closed Busy Bee Bikes on East Sixth Street on Friday, according to the transportation Web site.

Officers also arrested one employee for criminal possession of stolen property, Lt. Patrick Ferguson of the Ninth Precinct told Streetsblog.

Another employee was arrested in January on similar charges, the site reported.

Some customers might not have been surprised by the arrests as many alluded to shady practices in online reviews — some stated it outright.

"They buy stolen parts...," said poster Liam. "If you shop here, you support bicycle theft.‎"

The owners of the shop are scheduled to appear in civil court on Wednesday, Streetsblog reported.
