Forecasters are predicting that the snowfall that greeted New Yorkers Friday morning will accumulate up to two inches by the end of the day.

The snow coated sidewalks with a slick sheen, and alternate side parking regulations were suspended. Parking meter rules remain in effect.

The snow should stop falling by noon, according to AccuWeather. Weather will remain cool and windy this evening.

The snowfall was part of a system that dumped on the Northeast Thursday and Friday forcing closures and delays elsewhere.

Schools remained open in the city.
