Ald. Hopkins confirmed a "contiguous" six-acre park could have three acres on both sides of the river.

Ald. Hopkins backed the sale, which passed a council panel, after parkland grew from 10 to 12 acres.

The Friends of Fulton Market will call an emergency meeting Oct. 14 on the issue.
