The newest installment in the Star Wars franchise will screen at McGuane Park Wednesday night.
Events include art openings, plays, a sidewalk sale and barbecues.
The film will be screened as part of the city's "Movies in the Park" program.
“Apollo 18,” “Moana,” “The Secret Lives of Pets,” “Race” and “Madea’s Tough Love” are all showing.
The film screening will move inside if weather is bad.
The summer movie screening will be the Near West Side park's first in more than 10 years.
"Inside Out" and "Zootopia" are among the movies that will be shown for this year's Movies in the Park.
The West Loop's first Movie in the Park this summer takes two macaws on a South American adventure.
"Minions" and "Jurassic Park" are among the films that will be shown throughout the area.
Some hits this year include "Inside Out" and "Jurassic World."
Movies in the Parks begin as the sun goes down.
The Movies in the Park event is the last of the summer in the neighborhood.
Plus: Try gelato from Bar Siena's new BomboBar in the West Loop park Tuesday night.
The movie is free, but the Chicago Park District is asking for donations of canned food.
The kid-friendly movie will be shown under the nighttime sky on the Near West Side.
