The 2014 Great Chicago Fire Fest fizzle and a bet on a big space helped sink the 25-year-old theater.

After a disastrous debut in 2014, the Redmoon Theater-led festival moved to Northerly Island this year.

Now on dry land at Northerly Island, Redmoon Theater asks Chicago for a second chance Saturday.

The festival will be at Northerly Island on Sept. 26, officials said.

Redmoon will try again, a schedule out Thursday says. It also has the Taste of Chicago on July 8-12.

Rain wiped out the Taste's busiest day, but the official in charge of it still called it a success.

"I do believe this is something we want to continue to do," Mayor Rahm Emanuel said.

Thousands came Downtown for the ambitious spectacle, but many left disappointed.

Highlights include a fireworks show and the lighting of 15 "fire cauldrons."
