The 43-year-old was shot in the 6600 block of South Champlain Avenue, police said.

Sam Johnson was shot and killed Wednesday near what neighbors call a "hot spot" of gang activity.

Dennis Hoosier, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

Benson Collins, of the 4800 block of W. Cortland Street, was pronounced dead at 12 p.m., offiicals said.

The men were taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead, police said.

Demetrius M. Peebles was pronounced dead at 10:31 p.m., officials said.

One of the men was identified as 52-year-old Michael Bowers, authorities said.

Felix Diaz, 29, was shot Monday afternoon and later died from his wounds, police said.

The 39-year-old man was shot around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, police said.

Eric Langham, 22, of the 4400 block of South Lavergne Avenue, was pronounced dead Monday.

Louis Walker, 28, was shot on April 7 in the 4700 block of North Broadway.

Neighbors said the double homicide is an anomaly on an otherwise quiet block.

The shooting happened in the 300 block of West 64th Street, police said.

The shooting occurred around 3:03 p.m. in Riverdale, police said.  

Jeremy Collins, 26, brought his ailing dad soup last Monday night. Hours later, he was shot dead.
