"We're happy to see a great officer moving up the chain," said Ald. Waguespack of Sgt. Joe Giambrone.

Debbie Delgado, a mental health activist, took on the mayor during a visit Wednesday night.

Students are encouraged to bring ideas for creating gardens in their homes, businesses and churches.

Residents are encouraged to talk about crime concerns with local police officers.

Be Nice Chicago, organized the free store with support from local businesses.

A Friday night skate party will be followed by Saturday's massive Boo-Palooza festival.

Local police offers will be available to address safety concerns and share crime trends and statistics.

Ald. Joe Moreno (1st) said he would like to see other community groups weigh in on the event too.
