Schools in Rogers Park, Gage Park, the Near West Side and Brighton Park could all get new names.

"I need your help to prove the critics wrong," the Rogers Park alderman wrote to the mayor last year.

UNO's union said it had suggested other spending cuts, like not buying 500 new blazers for teachers.

The non-profit dance school is celebrating 30 years—and it's not the mean kind you see in the movies.

"Everybody is a human being—we really should be about taking care of ... one another," one sister said.

UNO Rogers Park saw the biggest decrease, but had the largest budget increase in the fall.

The charter school had received the most funds of any school in the neighborhood.

Chad Adams said going from "intensive" to "provisional" support was still a big victory for the school.

Chicago Public Schools in Rogers Park saw a $559,841 decrease in funds based on lower enrollment rates.

The highly debated Noble Charter school is no longer vying for a spot in Rogers Park, officials said. 

Roberto Saucedo, 43, died of cervical spinal injuries, authorities said.

Fliers and door hangers were spread throughout the neighborhood to advertise the charter school.
