Historian Heather Plaza-Manning, an expert on the "Egyptomania" movement, will speak about Egyptian Revival architecture in the United States and how it fits into Chicago architecture. She is scheduled to follow her 45-minute lecture with a 15-minute question-and-answer session.

Buena Park Neighbors, the block club hosting the presentation, invited people to come to the event who "want to know why the facade at Nick's Uptown on Sheridan Road is important."

The Chicago Commission on Landmarks is considering landmark status for Nick's, a late-night bar formerly at 4015-4017 N. Sheridan Road that closed in September.
