ENGLEWOOD — The recent death of South African leader Nelson Mandela will be remembered at a public memorial at the Beloved Community Christian Church of God & Christ, 6430 S. Harvard St., starting at 4 p.m. and hosted by U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush (D-1st), who is also the church's pastor.

Rush was part of a host committee that sponsored a 1993 trip to Chicago for Mandela after spending 27 years in a South African prison.
