An argument could be made that Lincoln Square Lanes, 4874 N. Lincoln Ave., is a concert venue where bowling occasionally breaks out.

Every Friday and Saturday night, Lincoln Square Lanes features live music, starting at 10 p.m., through the end of November. The lineup:

9/20: Number Nine with Grandma vs. Grandpa — A rock ensemble playing catchy songs with big hooks, great riffs, multi-part choruses, huge vocals and a synthpop overlay driven by aggressive, pounding drums.

9/21: Watch Out for Kenny! — Classic Soul, Blues, R&B and a few pop favorites sprinkled in for good measure.

9/27: The Shades

9/28: Barrett's Hidden Agenda w/special guest Not My Job — Barrett Tasky has worked for or played with Jack Johnson, Prince, Cheap Trick, David Gray, Radiohead and No Doubt among others.

10/4: The Slate — Originals and covers from the '60s to the present.

10/5: Madbread — The band plays a genre-bending brand of music that combines elements of bluegrass, folk, rock and blues.

10/11: Kong Fuzi — Blends '60s and '70s funk, New Orleans horns, soul and R&B.

10/12: BLT — Classic rock, blues, R&B, folk, spontaneous parodies, funk, contemporary styles and originals.

10/18: Tumbling Dice — Rolling Stones cover band.

10/19: Bluesniks — Chicago Rhythm and Blues, Memphis Soul, West Coast Swing and Funk.

10/25: Ambassadors to Earth

10/26: North Branch — Classic rock. The band's four members are all associated with rock ensembles at Old Town School of Folk Music.

11/1: Uptown Shakedown — Motown, soul, reggae, rock.

11/2: Cheryl & the Dynamics, Kent Rose, Rockin Johnny Band

11/8: The Quiet Storm
