Recorded poetry, first-person narratives and large art prints created by youths incarcerated in the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center will be part of the "Picturing a World Without Prisons" art exhibit.

Also on display will be photographs taken by various educators, activists, artists and advocates from across America, all of whom are "exploring the theme of picturing a world without prisons."

The exhibit's opening reception, slated for 6-10 p.m. Nov. 15, will feature spoken word and music by members of Circles & Ciphers, Elephant Rebellion and more.

The exhibit begins Nov. 11 and runs through Dec. 6 at the HumanThread gallery on the fifth floor of the Bridgeport Arts Center, 1200 W. 35th St.
