OLD TOWN — Catch up with the uproarious mockumentaries on two popular North Side neighborhoods this weekend.

On Saturday, iO Theater, 1501 N. Kingsbury St., will host a Q&A and screening from 8 to 10 p.m. featuring "Gayborhood" and "Old Town."

ITVFest Executive Director Philip Gilpin Jr., and cast members from both shows will discuss the projects and show the first four episodes of "Gayborhood" and the "Old Town" pilot.

Since "Gayborhood" debuted in May, the mock reality show set in Boystown won the Short Film Audience Choice Award at the Chicago Comedy Film Festival and completed its first season on YouTube.

The 12-episode series chronicles the misadventures of a group of flawed-yet-lovable Boystown millennials. From winning the lottery to coping with the woes of heartbreak (#TeamLeacy), the gang takes viewers on a rollercoaster ride through the city's best-known LGBTQ neighborhood.

The year after "Gayborhood" won best TV comedy in the 2014 Independent Television and Film Festival, "Old Town" was an official selection in 2015. Winner of the Award of Merit at the Accolade Global Film Competition, the show stars creators Brett Elam and Josh Logan.

The comedy duo play all the darkly hilarious main characters, including two slightly clueless Chicago police officers and two rich women with a fondness for boozing.
