CHICAGO — A 21-year-old woman died after she was shot in the head in Portage Park Saturday, police said.
The incident occurred in a residence in the 4800 block of West Hutchinson Street at 10 p.m., police said.
Police have detained a 37-year-old man who was inside the home "when a gun that one of them was handling discharged."
The woman was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where she died.
She was identified as Nadia Manjarrez, of the same block, by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Police are conducting a death investigation and further details were not immediately available.
